Gendered outcome mapping tool

PAN Localization project, www.panl10n.net, funded by IDRC, spread over 11 countries with 20+ organization involved, and remotely coordinated and managed by Center for Research in Urdu Language Processing in Pakistan.

We had been introduced to OM methodology for planning, monitoring and evaluation of the project. However one of our requirements was to incorporate Gender evaluation within our project planning and M&E design BUT following OM as the base M&E methodology. To handshake both the requirements, we thus developed a Gendered OM methodology, which essentially is OM with gender dimensions/ thinking points integrated into the overall OM approach. (Read more on Gendered OM please see: http://demo.genderedom.net/AboutGenderedOM.htm)

As our project has been multi-country, therefore to coordinate the OM data, we have developed an online tool, that, I believe exactly serves the purpose you have pointed to.

This tool has been especially developed for OM users.  It is available at : http://demo.genderedom.net/Login.php for testing at the mean time.  It has a sig-up tag and by clicking it you can register by giving  it your username and password to access the website.  By default it will log you in as a project manager, through which you can develop your own project using the worksheets of vision, mission, BPs, etc.

The tool has online help, that can guide the users on it basic functionality.

The basic reason for developing the tool was to have an online  tool/space available to centrally locate the project data and with a program manager login, the evaluators and the over-all project managers can monitor the progress of the projects by looking at outcome journals, strategy journals, etc.

The data entered through this tool goes onto our server and is stored there.  Data across projects is not visible.  People registers with a certain project can see only their own project specific data.

The tool is open source, and we have ported the tool on www.sourceforge.net.  The Project’s Url is  https://sourceforge.net/projects/crulpomg .  The download is in zip format, contains code and installation guide.   Basically it is step to encourage the community to take part in its development and modify it to suit their own need. Currently we are also working on it to include all the basic functionality in it, add, delete BPs, PMs,, manage users, etc. that was initially not available.

The tool is currently being used by our project teams (recently estimated, PAN Localization project is a team of about 230+ people).
